Formed sometime in 1995(?) Tortoise War Machine was/is a group of friends who joined together as a rock band to share their common love of music. The friends met while attending Hoosac Valley High School, all nerds and band/theater geeks, some say their formation was inevitable. The band continued to play together after graduation and while attending college between the Berkshires and Poughkeepsie, NY. As the gravity of adulthood came near, the group may have drifted apart in proximity, but not in their friendship.

Best described as “90’s Alternative Rock,” influences include Radiohead, Smashing Pumpkins, as well as almost all forms of classic rock.
